Dedicatio Cathedralis: Música en las Alturas

On the occasion of the 512th anniversary of the Dedication of the Cathedral of Salamanca, a celebration of the reconstruction of lost soundscapes will be held in this temple, featuring a concert that revives the ancient practice whereby wind players and other musicians performed from strategic locations within the cathedral, as documented in the cathedral archives (ceremonial books, chapter records…), particularly from elevated areas (galleries, balconies, platforms…).

La Danserye will perform wind music from the upper galleries of the New Cathedral, culminating with music played above the Ramos façade facing Plaza de Anaya, accompanied by the sounds of bells, lights, and fireworks.
