La
Danserye
"... Tracing the echoes of a lost soundscape..."

La Danserye is a group specialized in the historically informed performance of music from the Middle Ages to the early Baroque, focusing on the tradition of the ministriles and the instrumental repertoire of the Renaissance

Performance practice

One of the main aims of La Danserye is the research of the instruments and the original musical practice, from the study of theoretical treatises and other sources, playing the music from facsimile editions of original music sources to achieve a genuine sound.

Our instruments

The Danserye has more than thirty instruments. Our instruments are copies of original instruments from the XVth to the XVIIth centuries. They are distributed in consorts: cornetts, shawms, sackbuts, dulcians, crumhorns, racketts, natural trumpets, baroque oboes, etc.

In 2014, La Danserye founded Capella Prolationum with the aim of creating a laboratory for vocal experimentation, based on the study, research, and historically informed performance of the repertoire from this period.
