El felicissimo viaje d’el muy alto y muy poderoso Príncipe Phelippe
Inspired by the historic journey of Prince Philip narrated in 1552 by Juan Cristóbal Calvete de Estrella, this program offers a genuine musical voyage into the 16th century, recreating the sounds that accompanied one of the most significant episodes in the life of the future Philip II of Spain. The repertoire focuses on the celebrated collection of four-part dances published in Antwerp in 1551 by Tielman Susato in his Het derde Musyck boexken, created for the magnificent festivities with which the city welcomed the prince. Performed on a wide variety of historical wind instruments—cornetts, sackbuts, shawms, flutes, dulcians and others—this program presents a richly colored sound palette that reveals the original timbres of Renaissance instrumental ensembles. Through meticulous historical reconstruction and the use of faithful copies of period instruments, La Danserye invites the audience to experience the musical splendor of Renaissance Spain and Europe, uniting historical rigor, emotional depth, and sonic beauty in a single concert.
