The choreographies described in dance treatises from the 16th and 17th centuries serve to reconstruct the dances practiced in European courts of the time. La Spagna, la spagnoletta, the canarios, or the folía were dance forms that came to embody the archetype of the Spanish style in that historical period. In this concert, focused on dance music, a pair of dancers recreates these historical dances with the accompaniment of a varied ensemble of minstrels.
